Cheeses From Wales is a Limited Cooperative. It has been set up by Welsh cheesemakers to provide a method of collectively selling and promoting a wide selection of cheeses that have one thing in common - they are all made in Wales. Cheeses From Wales members include small on-farm producers through to larger, creamery scale operators. The range of products that Cheeses From Wales has to offer includes varieties derived from cow, goat and sheep's milk, both pasteurised and unpasteurised.

Among the operating principles of the cooperative are certain conditions that all subscribing companies must adhere to:

		The manufacturing sites must be based in Wales and use milk produced in Wales.
		The products offered must comply with UK Trading Standards legislation in being legally definable as 'Welsh'.
		The companies must be registered with their local authority, have an EEC health-mark and comply with the standards that are imposed to maintain this.
		As a minimum standard, companies must fully adhere to the Specialist Cheesemakers Association Code of Practice and where possible have accreditation to a nationally recognised quality management scheme e.g. ISO 9000 or EFSIS.

The whole ethos of the business is to remove the complications that many customers face when dealing with numerous suppliers. We aim to make the process of finding and buying a broad range of Welsh cheeses straightforward and easy. In providing this 'one stop shop' Cheeses From Wales makes the trading process simple, where one purchase order can be satisfied with one delivery, one invoice and one payment transaction.

Cheeses From Wales Ltd does not own distribution facilities, choosing instead to contract services from specialist operators as required, be that in local, national or international markets or indeed by working directly with customers own supply arrangements. In other words we are flexible. In this way we allow the members to remain focused on the process of cheesemaking.

Cheeses From Wales LTD is keen to lead innovation in the cheese category. We have developed a range of cheeseboard concepts that are designed to assist the food service operator. We also provide a category management service to our customers, that aims to provide clear and concise product information derived directly from the producers of the cheese. We are eager that the interesting stories that our members can relate, along with the superb quality of the products that they produce, is used as the main thrust in the sales development process. We translate this into a marketing support package which can include point of consumption materials and staff training.

Cheeses From Wales Ltd supply quality, speciality cheeses to Distributors, Wholesalers, Retailers and Consumers nationally across the UK and is also developing trade with international markets.
